Epic Studios chooses Hiring Post to support ITV’s World of Sport Wrestling series

Regional television and entertainment studio, Epic Studios, has used a Quadrus Ingest Machine system, supplied by Hiring Post, along with Avid® NEXIS™ storage and Avid editing suites, f

or ITV's latest mainstream production, the World of Sport Wrestling series. The 10-part programme is a relaunch of the classic series – 30 years after the end of its original run – which made household stars of wrestlers such as Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks. The new series was filmed over several days at Norfolk-based Epic Studios, in front of a live studio audience.

Epic Studios, in the heart of East Anglia, can be setup for a variety of projects, ranging from TV studio production to live performance and events. ITV’s World of Sport Wrestling was a major production for Epic, so the company hired in the 8-channel Quadrus Ingest Machine live ingest system from Hiring Post, along with Avid NEXIS storage and Avid Media Composer editing suites. The studio already had fibre optic infrastructure, with cabling for 8 HD cameras, with seating for audiences of up to 700. They filmed the wrestling over a few days, ingesting the live feeds from the gallery and recording onto the NEXIS storage. The media was immediately available for editing, with Epic Studios’ own storage system used for full back-up. Hiring Post provided a full pre-build of the systems, with delivery and on-site installation, together with technical staff to manage the media and workflow for the whole production.

“Hiring Post are a very professional team and delivered an excellent level of service,” explained Operations Manager, Kris McCarthy. “Knowing we have

support like this helps makes regional production so attractive for our clients too.”
